I first heard about Twitter at Web Directions in September 2008. The idea sounded exciting, and many in the profession were hyped by it. However most of the people I knew outside of web development had never heard of Twitter, and many had not really heard of Facebook.
So I signed up, started following some people, made a few tweets of my own. But quickly I found it boring banter on unimportant things. Too much noise, not much signal. So as many have done, I stopped tweeting, and then removed the account all together.
Move forward to July 2010, and twitter is now mainstream. I have decided to give it another go. Primarily it will be professionally focused around web development, PHP etc. Not really interested in telling people what I have for lunch. So my handle is @eleseberg.
Let’s see how it goes this time.
